The Blessing of the Holy Ark of the Covenant

Saint of God,

You live in a remarkable day—

In broad daylight,

No more shadows of Christ.

The real has come.

It’s the time Jeremiah

Foresaw in the Spirit:

“In those days,”

Declares the Lord,

“They shall no more say,

‘The ark of the covenant

Of the Lord.’

It shall not come to mind….” (Jer. 3:16)

The ark of the covenant,

Behind the veil,

In the Holy of Holies,

Encrusted with the blood

Of a thousand goats,

Sprinkled there

By the one high priest

On the one day of atonement—

That ark, that symbol of

The absolute purity of God,

Is no more.

Instead,

Child of God,

You have been marked holy

In Christ,

By his blood.

I bless you to know

The holiness of God up close,

No ark needed.
