A Blessing for Peace with God

I bless you today

To enjoy your peace with God.

No new information is needed.

No new work is required.

God has reconciled you,

Saint of the Lord,

He has made peace with you

In Christ.

Reconciliation,

Peace with God,

In ancient times,

Was found inside the veil,

On Yom Kipper,

As the high priest dabbed

The blood of the innocent goat

On the gilded cover,

The mercy seat,

Of the Ark of the Covenant.

There, under the shadow

Of golden cherubim wings,

The sin of the people was covered

For another year

And they could be at peace with God.

But, Jeremiah prophesied,

The day is coming,

(AND HAS COME!),

In which “they shall no more say,

‘The ark of the covenant of the Lord.’

It shall not come to mind.” (Jer. 3:16)

Forgiveness has come.

No ark needed.

Peace has arrived.

Through the One final Lamb.
