God’s Grin Over You

To say “There is therefore

Now no condemnation

For those in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).

Is to say…

You can be assured,

Child of God,

That your Father is smiling

Upon you,

All the time,

In all circumstances,

When you are at your best,

And at your worst,

His countenance is radiant upon you

Because there is no condemnation

Or shame

Or disgust

Or disillusionment

In the heart of God toward you.

The high priestly blessing of old,

“The Lord make his face to shine upon you,” (Numbers 6:25)

Is yours now, and forever, in Christ.

See His joy.

Feel His warmth.

The Lord is grinning over you—

And nobody is going to wipe

That smile off His face.
