I got rear-ended once decades ago.
I was stuck, waiting to turn.
I saw it coming and couldn’t stop it,
And, for months thereafter,
I stared in the rearview mirror at every stop sign.
Whatever your trauma,
Maybe you saw the crash coming— maybe not,
But it’s changed how you “drive”—
It’s got you looking in the rear view mirror a lot.
I bless you today to look at what’s ahead.
Know that grace has given you the green light.
May you dream again.
May you dance again.
May you enjoy the drive again.
And may your soul say with the psalmist:
“Remember not the former things …
Behold, I am doing a new thing…” (Is. 43:18-19)
