God Knew You Before He Made You

I bless you today
With the word of the Lord
To Jeremiah:

“Before I formed you
In the womb I knew you,
And before you were born
I consecrated you.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

You began as an idea
In the mind of God.

He envisioned you,
Saw you,
Loved you,
Before He made you.

Though you were born in sin
You were consecrated
In God’s thoughts and plans.

He set you apart,
Claimed you,
Wooed you,
Won you,
Child of God.

May you live
With the honor of one who was
Known,
Loved,
And Claimed—
Before you were conceived.
