Hearing God’s Jubilant Song

I bless you your

Spiritual ears to hear

God break forth

Into jubilant song

Over you,

Child of God,

Over YOU!

Zephaniah foretold it:

“He will rejoice over you with gladness…

He will exult over you with loud singing.” (Zeph. 3:17)

Amidst all the minor key melodies

Of the world,

The dirges of shame and condemnation,

May you hear the Truest,

The Brightest,

The Best song of all—

The glad song of God,

Ringing in the heavens

Before you were born,

Rejoicing now because you are His!

Let all the  world’s jeers

Be drowned out

By the joy of the Lord for you!
