A Blessing to be Shaped by Identity

You are not loved
by God because of who you are—
You are who
you are because you are loved by God.
God loves
you into being who He made you to be.
From 16th
century Reformer, Martin Luther:
“The love of
God does not find,
But creates,
That which
is pleasing to it …
Rather than
seeking its own good,
The love of
God flows forth and bestows good.
Therefore,
sinners are attractive because they are loved;
They are not
loved because they are attractive.”
God loves
you first.
God loves
you fiercely.
God loves
you fully.
For I am sure that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate you
from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
