I bless you to be
Like a tree
Planted by streams of water
That yields its fruit
In its season,
And its leaf does not wither.
In all you do
May you prosper. (Psalm 1:3)
May every adversity
Propel your roots deeper,
Making you bendable,
But unbreakable,
And unshakeable.
And, as the streams of God’s grace,
Flow, day by day,
May you discover that
You’ve grown not only
Deep roots,
But also,
Unwithering fruit.

I like to bless you each day because blessing releases grace in a powerful, mystical way. It’s not magic, it’s scriptural. The Hebrew patriarchs blessed their children, and Jesus blessed all the children who came to Him. Learn all about it in my new book, The Power to Bless, releasing next week! Today’s blessing is inspired by Psalm 1 and its vision of the person of unwithering fruit and deep roots near to the river. Ultimately, I believe that Man is Christ and we, who are in Christ, are therefore welcomed into the promise of enduring fruit. And that’s the Gospel!
