Bless you, little lamb,
When you’re thirsty and can’t find the stream.
Your shepherd knows where the best brooks babble.
He knows where the fresh springs bubble.
Your shepherd doesn’t despise your thirst;
He doesn’t disdain your deepest longings.
Blessed are those that hunger and thirst
For they shall be satisfied.
So I bless your thirst.
I bless the yearning in your soul
That nothing on earth can quench.
Fear not, little lamb.
It is not for you to place springs beneath the earth
Or form rivers that flow from mountain snows.
Your thirst is all you need.
Your shepherd, Jesus, will lead you beside still waters.
Thirst. Drink. Be refreshed.
And live.
