Shame off you!

In a “you ought to be ashamed of yourself” world,

The Lord has a very different word for you in Isaiah:

“Instead of your shame

There shall be a double portion;

Instead of dishonor

You shall rejoice in your lot;

Therefore in your land

You shall possess a double portion;

You shall have everlasting joy.” (Isaiah 61:7, ESV)

May the shame fall away

And grace fill you up.

May the devil’s accusations grow silent

And the assurances of God grow strong.

Though hell’s shame tries to

Disqualify you,

You have been fully qualified

For your spiritual inheritance in Christ.

May you discover a double portion

Of Honor

A double portion

Of Joy

And everlasting joy.
