The mystery

Has been made known

To you

In Christ. (Eph 1:9)

Let’s be clear,

This isn’t a whodunnit.

You didn’t figure it out

By following the clues.

It’s the riches of His grace,

Which He lavished upon you,

In all wisdom and insight,

Making known to you

The mystery of His will,

According to His purpose,

Which He set forth in Christ. (Eph. 1:7-9)

No, you aren’t a sleuth with

Special skills of observation—

You are an unwitting recipient

Of an eternal mystery.

How would God save His children

Without compromising His holiness?

How could God show Himself

Both just and justifier?

Only in Christ.

There, in your Messiah,

The mystery has been revealed.

What God has done in you is

Wondrous,

Unexpected,

Lavish.

It’s all grace.

Mystery solved.
