You’re a First Born

In Christ,

You’re a first-born son.

Whether old or young,

Male or female,

New disciple,

Or seasoned saint,

Paul’s words are for you:

“In love He predestined

You for adoption to himself

As Sons

Through Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 1:5)

The first-born son in Jesus’ world

Got all the attention—

The double inheritance—

The double responsibility.

Christ is the Firstborn of all Creation

And you have been chosen in Him,

Adopted in Him,

Engrafted to Him.

If His inheritance is that of a firstborn,

So is yours.

If the Father adores Him,

So He adores you.

You aren’t a notch down in the family line,

So be blessed today—

You’re a first-born son of God.
