The Defeat of the Dragon

“Now war arose in heaven,

Michael and his angels fighting

Against the dragon.

And the dragon and his angels fought back,

But …

He was defeated.” (Rev. 12:7-8)

I bless you to fight in the Spirit

With weapons alien to this world,

Knowing that your foe has

Already suffered strategic loss—

Debilitating impairment.

The devil was not eliminated

But…

He was defeated.

The devil was not utterly silenced

But…

He was defeated.

You fight differently when you

Know that you are battling

A defeated foe.

More confidently.

More authoritatively.

More powerfully.

I bless you to keep loving

Knowing that the hater has been beaten.

I bless you to keep forgiving

Knowing that the accuser has already been thrown down.

Fear no evil, child of God. Fear no evil.
