You’re No Grasshopper

I bless you to

See your spiritual foes

As they are—not as

You imagine them to be.

They’re not really giants.

They’re not so tall.

They’re not so mysterious.

As they seem.

The ten fearful spies

Came home with bad intel

On the Promised Land

Reporting that they saw

The Nephilim—the

Mythical half angel/half man giants—

Occupying Canaan.

“All the people are of great height…

And we seemed to ourselves

Like grasshoppers,

And so we seemed to them.” (Numbers 13:32,33)

That’s not the way Joshua and Caleb

Saw the enemies in the Promised Land.

They saw them for who they were—

“They are bread for us”

(translated, We’ll eat ’em for lunch)

“Their protection is removed from them”

(translated, They’re sitting ducks!) (Numbers 14:9)

There are challenges ahead,

Child of God,

But they are not gigantic—

Not compared to God.

In Christ, you’re much

More giant

Than you are grasshopper.
