I bless you with
More-than-Moses boldness,
Brighter-than-Moses radiance,
And closer-than-Moses communion
With the Lord of Glory.
What you have in Christ,
Paul dared to proclaim,
Is a far greater privilege—
A much deeper access
Into God’s resplendent presence:
“Since we have such a hope,
We are very bold,
Not like Moses…” (2 Cor. 3:12-13)
Moses was God’s man.
Moses worked God’s miracles,
In the plagues and the parting and providing.
Moses met with God on the mountain,
In the fire and the smoke and the shaking.
When Moses descended from Sinai
To the camp,
“The skin of his face shone because
He’d been talking with God.” (Ex. 34:29)
The glory of the Lord
Had splashed onto God’s messenger.
He was glowing.
He was bold.
But Moses’s covenant,
The “Old” Covenant,
Was just a whisper of the glory to come.
New Covenant child of God,
What Moses had in part,
You have in full—
Unfettered access to the throne of grace.
So, glow with His glory.
Glow with His glory.
