The After Christmas Blessing

What is there to do

After Christmas?

After the gifts

And the gatherings

And the ho, ho, ho.

What shall we do?

“Let’s go!”

It was the only

Fitting response

For the shepherds …

Or for anyone

Who comes close

To Christmas:

“Let us go over

To Bethlehem and see

This thing…

Which the Lord made known

To us.” (Luke 2:15)

I bless you with

The shepherds’ joy

That energized them

To run towards God.

Christmas isn’t an ending,

Child of God,

It’s a beginning.

“Let’s go!”
