A Blessing to Stay New

I bless your spirit

To rejoice in the
New that doesn’t

Get old.

When the ball

Has dropped

And the fireworks

Have grown silent

And the new year’s

Resolves have faded,

One thing remains

Ever new:

The grace of God.

“The steadfast love

Of the Lord

Never ceases;

His mercies never come

To an end;

They are new every morning….” (Lam. 3:22-23)

You need no new year

To be made new.

You are a child of grace

In Jesus Christ

And God’s grace never grows old.
