The sun peaked out in North Carolina this week.
Shy.
Skittish.
But bright.
And then it hid again behind the cumulous layers.
Gray again.
Wet again.
But, now we know the light is there.
Was the sun’s brief showing a taunt?
A ruse?
A jest?
Or was it a promise?
Maybe your life has been cloud-covered a lot lately.
The gray of the daily grind.
The gray of too many disappointments.
If so, get ready.
Here comes the sun.
As Malachi prophesied,
The sun of righteousness shall rise
With healing in its wings.
All it takes it’s a day or two of sun
To remind us that spring always arrives.
So, I bless you to revel in the momentary sunbursts
And to be assure that though winter’s gray lingers,
It never stays.
