The Blessing of Narrow Truth

I bless you today

To abide in the truth—

To know the truth—

“And the truth will

Set you free.” (John 8:32)

Contrary to the spirit of the age,

Truth is not wide.

The gate is narrow that

Leads to life.

Truth is powerful

Because of its narrowness.

What appears to be restrictive

Is powerfully freeing.

Who wants a GPS that says,

“Turn any direction you want”?

Vague instructions get you lost.

It’s the specific, the accurate,

The “not that way, but this way” voice

That helps, that heals, that restores.

May the truth, Jesus Himself,

Set you free.
