Who is Defining You?

Who gets to define

Your identity?

Who gets to shed light

On the big question:

Who are you?

I bless you to sift out

The voices of society

And social media

And shame

And see your identity

In the One who made you

And loves you perfectly.

The spirit of the age cries:

“Look within – discover yourself,

Let no one tell you who you are!”

Jesus cries:

“I am the light of the world.

Whoever follows me will not

Walk in darkness,

But will have the light of life” (John 8:12).

Identity is not discovered within you,

It is revealed for you,

By His revealed word,

Child of God,

By His word.
