You Have an Immeasurably Big Family

I bless you to
Look with John amidst the Patmos vision:
“Behold, a great multitude
That no one could number,
From every nation,
From all tribes
And Peoples
And Languages,
Standing before the throne
And before the Lamb,
Clothed in white robes,
With palm branches in their hands.” (Rev. 7:9)

When the curtain of heaven
Is peeled back
And you’re given a peek
Into the glory of it all
You find out that your
Family is a lot bigger than
One might think!

God has some fun with Abraham
When He asked the old man to
Count the stars—
As if they could be counted.
Maybe Abraham tried:
Five thousand Two Hundred Twenty-Three—
No, wait, that’s 5,224 I think.

If he had a Hubble telescope
He might estimate 100 billion
In the Milky Way alone.

The Great Commission isn’t failing.
God isn’t finished.
Heaven is greater than we know
And its population growth is explosive.
If you feel alone or forgotten or even persecuted
Remember your unnumerable
Brothers and sisters already around the throne!
