At the Potter’s house
And observe.

Watch the craftsman
At work,
Choosing the clay lump,
Holding it,
Moistening it,
Spinning it,
Shaping it
Into goodness when…

What?…

He stops.
The vessel has an imperfection.
Perhaps an ugly bubble,
Or pebble,
Or scrape
Or wobbly place.

Watch.

Does He curse
And cast the clay aside?
Toss it into the can
As rubbish?

No. Wait.

He lumps it again.
He holds it again.
Spins it again.

The Potter doesn’t scrap
His work because He finds an imperfection.
He remakes it.

You’ve been remade,
Child of God.
Remade.
