God is the Gospel

May you delight

In God’s presence today

Knowing that

You have received

Nothing less

Than the ‘Gospel of God” (Romans 1:1)—

God’s Gospel,

The Gospel that originates with God

And culminates with God,

And consists of God.

As John Piper put it,

“God is the Gospel.”

What you have received,

Child of God,

Is not merely salvation from your sins,

Healing from your brokenness,

Or freedom from your shame.

What Christ has purchased,

The reason for the bloody cross,

And glorious resurrection,

Is the gift of God Himself,

Now and forever.
