You’re In the Last Adam

Child of God,

You are no longer

In the first Adam –

You are in the second Adam,

The final Adam.

‘Tis true, you were born in sin,

Born an heir of the original sinner,

Because “sin came into the world

Through one man” (Romans 5:12).

But, when you took Christ’s gift,

You were born anew,

And given a new Adam—

A true human, a perfect man,

A God-man,

As your representative,

Your ancestry.

As much as sin came into your life

Through the first Adam’s sin,

Oh, how much more has His righteousness

Become yours through the last Adam!
