Peace with God

I bless you today with the peace that matters most—
Peace with God.

It’s the peace proclaimed in Romans 5:1:
“Since we have been justified by faith,
We have peace with God
Through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Why the need for peace for God?

When two assume the same
Position of authority or dominion,
There is conflict.
When two claim absolute sovereignty
There is war.

Sin sought to dethrone God.
Sin put us at enmity with God.
So God, gracious and just,
Came to solve the problem.

God Himself paid the penalty—
A penalty that will never need other payment,
That you might be free and
Be at peace forever with God.

The hostility is over,
Child of God,
You are at peace with God.
