Loving the Unseen One

Receive the words from 1 Peter 1:8:

“Though you have not seen him,
You love him.
Though you do not now see him,
You believe in him
And rejoice
With joy that is inexpressible
And filled with glory.”

We see earthly problems.
They glare at us.
If we let them,
They’ll make us stare at them.

But you need not
Fix your gaze on the fleeting troubles
Of this world.
You are made to love
The One you don’t see with natural eyes.
You can love Him
And have joy again and again
As you love Him more and more.

When earth’s problems
Invite your gaze,
Make 1 Peter 1:8 your own:
“Though I have not seen Him,
I love Him…
I believe in Him
And rejoice
With joy that is inexpressible.”
