Unlocking Peaceful Living

I bless you to sleep like a baby.

Though researchers have

Pinpointed 7000 different human fears,

We’re born with only two—

Heights and loud noises.

How adept we adults are

To have learned 6,998 other worries

On the path to adulthood.

But Jesus offers us

A return to childhood,

A rebirth into a simpler life

That acknowledges our smallness

And admires God’s bigness.

Children have so much less control

And so much more peace.

Toddlers know they aren’t in charge

And that’s their ticket to worry-free living.

“Your Heavenly Father knows [what]

You need” (Matthew 6:32, ESV).

He knows.

He’s got this, little child of God,

He’s got this.
