A Blessing for the Dreams from God

May your God dreams never die.

May the inspired visions,
The deep, God-given knowings,
The Spirit-induced yearnings,
Live in you,
Like imperishable seed
And defy the discomforts
And discouragements
That deign to taunt and take away
What God has put in you.

“Here comes that dreamer” (Genesis 37:19, NIV),
Joseph’s jealous brothers seethed.

The stripped him of his coat, his dignity, his freedom,
But they did not strip him of his dreams.

God’s dreams inside of you
Cannot be stolen
Or silenced
Or sabotaged.

I bless your God dreams
To live and to never let go of you.
