A Blessing for the Elect Exiles

I bless you today as an
“Elect exile….” (1 Peter 1:1)

That’s how Peter addresses
His first century readers
And you.

You aren’t just “the elect.”
You aren’t just “the exile.”
In Christ, you are both.

You are an “elect exile.”

You are chosen in Christ,
Loved perfectly,
Adopted eternally,
Empowered supernaturally.

And…

You might be rejected in the world,
Misunderstood woefully,
Accused unjustly,
Persecuted irrationally.

You’re a sojourner
Passing through
And…
You’re a saint
Already seated with Christ in the heavenlies!
