Peace Beyond Understanding

“The Peace of God
That surpasses
All understanding…
Guard your heart
And your mind
In Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7)

I bless you to apprehend
What you can’t comprehend.

I bless you to appropriate
What you cannot elucidate.

There is serenity in Christ
That the soul cannot Explain,
But can Experience,
And therefore,
Can Expect.

Not everything needs to be
Understood
In order to be
Enjoyed.

A traveler need not comprehend
Aerodynamics to enjoy a flight to Hawaii.
A toddler need not understand
Love to enjoy a hug from a Mom.

May you be filled with peace today,
God’s version of peace,
That doesn’t wait until life
Is easy
And doesn’t need a reason.
