What God Appoints, He Anoints

“Before you were born,”

God told Jeremiah,

“I appointed you a prophet…” (Jer. 1:5)

The predestined prophet

Balked, saying:

“I’m only a kid.”

The Lord,

Undeterred

By His appointee’s protests,

“Put out his hand and

Touched [Jeremiah’s] mouth,”

Saying, “Behold,

I have put my words

In your mouth.” (Jer 1:9)

Fear not the assignments of God,

Child of God,

For God anoints what He appoints.

Truth be told,

God is more committed

To empowering you for the mission ahead

Than you are interested in being empowered.

Your appointment is His idea.

Your success is His goal.

I bless you to embrace

Every assignment from the Lord

With certainty

That God’s hand reaches out to you.

He put words in the prophet’s mouth.

Whatever you need to fulfill His call

He’ll put in you as well.
