That’s Unfair!

Through Adam’s sin,

We all were born into sin,

All condemned:

“Because of one man’s trespass,

Death reigned through that one man” (Rom 5:17)

Not fair!

But, I bless your soul

To be enamored today

With something altogether

More unfair –

“One act of righteousness

Leads to justification and life…” (Rom. 5:18)

Through the second Adam’s righteousness,

You, and all who trust Him,

Are made a live and justified and free!

As Spurgeon said:

“I dare not question

The perfect justice of my fall in Adam…

For by so doing I might cast some doubt

Upon the justice of my rising

In the second Adam.”

Rejoice – you are righteous in Christ.

And that’s so unfair.
