Peace Will Guard Your Heart

With Apostle Paul’s
Words to the Philippians,
I bless you that
The Unreasonable,
Inexplicable
Peace
Of God
“Will guard your heart
And mind
In Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7)

How odd.
How refreshing:
What you can’t figure out
Is what helps you sort it all out.

It’s what can’t be comprehended—
“The peace of God,
Which surpasses all understanding”—
That protects you best.

God’s incomprehensible peace
Stands watch
And keeps the heart from despair
In the deeps
And keeps the mind from deception
In the darkness.

May you stay full of God’s peace,
Child of God,
Stay full,
So your heart and your mind
Will stay safe
In Christ Jesus.
