A Wake Up Blessing

May God,
In His grace,
Awaken you.

“You know the time,”
Paul tells the Romans and us,
“That the hour has come for you
To wake from sleep.” (Rom. 13:11)

With a gentle, Father’s hand,
He wakes up His child
To a new day
Full of light and possibility
And love and hope.

So,
Rub your spiritual eyes,
Stretch your spiritual limbs,
Give one last yawn to the dark of night,
And awaken to God’s smile.

I bless you to wake up,
Child of God,
Wake up to the new day.
