Before breathing His last

On the cross.

It is over.

Done.

Perfected.

There is no more sacrifice needed.

It is finished.

There is no more dominion for sin.

It is finished.

There is no other righteousness required.

It is finished.

The whole cosmic scale of justice

Shifted

As the earth shook

And the sky grew black

And the Son of Man took

On the sin of the world

So that you and I would be free

From the endless tyranny of guilt

And religious performance.

Rest. Rejoice.

It is finished.
