A Blessing for Joyful Sowing

I bless you to sow
“Not reluctantly or
Under compulsion” –
Not like you wish you didn’t have to
Or like you are forced to, or else—
But to sow with a farmer’s joy and faith.

You’ve got a garden—
A place of influence,
A patch in this world to care for,
To invest in,
To partner with God
For the good of others
And the glory of the Lord.

You’re not a slave under a law—
“Sow seed or be punished”.

NO!

You’re a full partner with God,
A co-owner,
A join-heir with Christ.

When you sow,
When you serve,
When you give,
May you see it through the
Cheerful eyes of a visionary gardener
Who has faith for the harvest to come!
