You are God’s vessel for the impossible.
Alone, you can’t. With God, you can.
When confronted with glory
And impossible promises
Mary worried—it can’t be,
How could it be?
She was not yet married.
She was too poor.
She was too obscure.
She was too young.
She was too….
We know our limits too well.
But, today, I bless the eyes of your heart
To see what God sees.
To see what can be created by the Creator—
To see what can be conquered by the Victor—
To see what can be healed by the Healer.
You, like Mary, are a vessel
For the holy purposes of God.
Alone, you can’t. With God, you can.

Today’s Text: Luke 1:34–37 (ESV)
34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” 35 And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Mary’s miracle didn’t depend on Mary’s righteousness or power, but on God’s. That’s how you can be sure that the impossible is possible in your life too. And that’s the Gospel!
