Not a Fair Fight

You aren’t in a fair fight—

At least,

It’s not fair for your foe.

Your enemy has no lethal armament,

No bullets in his gun.

Why?

Because God

“Disarmed the rulers and authorities

And put them to open shame

By triumphing over them”

In Christ. (Col. 2:15)

When you’re in Christ,

You’re beyond accusation.

If Jesus paid it all,

No debt exists.

So, no claim against you remains.

It means that all the devil’s accusations

Are baseless

And can be ignored

Or rebuked

Or laughed off.

It means that while you

Are armed with the Word of God

And the power of the Spirit,

Your adversary has blanks in his gun,

No arrows in his quiver,

No stone in his sling.

So, I bless you to take advantage

Of your victorious position

Because,

With the Gospel – it’s just not fair,

Hallelujah.
