Death Has Died

Your enemy’s primary threat

Has been rendered

Irrelevant.

Impotent.

Nothing but a bunch of hot air.

Your foe’s primary,

Strategic taunt,

Has been thoroughly

Debunked.

Defeated.

Nothing but a bunch of smoke.

Jesus became like you

So “that through death

He might destroy the one

Who has the power of death,

That is, the devil,

And deliver all those who

Through fear of death were

Subject to lifelong slavery.” (Heb. 2:14-15)

If the adversary’s greatest threat

(Death)

Has been overturned

By the Redeemer’s greatest gift

(Eternal life)

Then what lesser hellish taunt

Can find a foothold?

I bless you to walk in joy

And victory today

Knowing that your foe’s best

Has already been bested.
