A Mysterious Grace

The greater the troubles,

The greater the comfort.

The deeper the disappointment,

The deeper the grace.

The harder the trial,

The softer the mercy.

Paul said it plainly:

“As we share abundantly

In Christ’s sufferings,

So through Christ we share abundantly

In comfort too.” (2 Cor. 1:5)

May you know

The comfort of God

Abundantly,

Pervasively,

Sweetly,

Powerfully,

So that your simplest sorrows

And deepest losses

Are swallowed up into

A Mysterious Grace

And healed.
