How does God feel about you?
What does He think about you?
Hear the words of God toward
The Hebrew exiles in Babylon,
And make them your own:
“Is Ephraim my dear son?
Is he my darling child?
My heart yearns for him…” (Jer. 31:20)
Though disciplined for disobedience,
Though exiled to a foreign land,
Though separated
From family
And finances
And just plain fun,
God says to every exile:
You are my dear son.
You are my darling child.
My heart yearns for you-
Literally, “my insides are
In turmoil for you.”
How does God feel about you
When you are suffering in Babylon?
He can’t stop thinking about you.
He can’t stop churning with love
And longing for your return.
You are His darling,
Saint of God,
You are His darling child.
