The Narrow Gate Paradox

May your world expand
As your focus narrows.

As the world cries,
“Cast off restraint
If you want to be free,”
Jesus proclaims,
“Enter by the narrow gate…
The gate is narrow…
That leads to life.” (Matt 7:13)

The expansive life,
The wonder-filled life,
Is entered through
A single door
(“I am the door,” John 10:7).

What seems restricting,
Is liberating.
What seems confining,
Is life-giving.

Jesus did not come to
Take your life,
Child of God,
He came to give it.
