After the feasts,
And festivities,
It feels like time for a nap.
Most of the time,
Life chugs too fast,
And, usually, we need to learn
To slow, rather than go.
But, when Christmas
Comes near our hearts,
Something inside us
Rightly speeds up
To shepherds’ pace:
“And they went with haste
And found Mary and Joseph,
And the baby
Lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:16)
Revelation of good news
Releases energy in the soul
And runs us toward Jesus.
This post-Christmas,
May your heart find
Renewed strength
In the glad tidings of great joy
And may your soul
Find greater delight in pursuing
The sight of the Son of God.
