Child of God,
May you, above all,
Know this:
Jesus cares.
More than we can know.
He cares.
He cares about the smallest ripple of pain
And the seismic storms of your life.
He cares.
When the winds and the waves
Barraged the boat
On the Galilean Sea in the dark
The disciples cried aloud in their panic:
“Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” (Mark 4:38)
The question, of course,
Drips with irony.
“Not care?”
Then why did He shed His heavenly raiment
And become a servant in the flesh?
“Not care that we are perishing?”
It was the whole purpose of His coming!
He came to seek and save the lost!
So, the Savior roused from his nap,
Rubbed His eyes, stretched His arms
And rebuked the storm …
Because He cares.
More than we can know.
He cares.
