Forget the Past, Forge Ahead

I bless you that,
“Forgetting
What lies Behind
And straining Forward
To what lies Ahead,”

Not forgetting
Sweet memories
Of delightful grace
Or strong God moments
Of parted Red Seas—

Rather,

Forgetting
Old sin
And old religious strategies
For garnering God’s favor.

That’s over.
You’re in a New Covenant.

So, you can lean
Forward
Into grace—
Into the finish line
To collect the prize
Of permanent joy
And eternal life
In Christ!
