God Enjoying You

What if God likes seeing you

Not because He’s interested

In improving you (though that He is!),

Not because He is frustrated

With your sin (though He disdains all that is unholy),

Not because He has

An assignment for you (though He made you for good works!)

What if God likes seeing you …

Because He enjoys you.

Some say Zephaniah 3:17

Should be rendered:

“He grows quiet in His love for you.”

Like a Groom who gazes,

Speechless,

As his bride processes toward him.

Like a mother who watches,

Silently,

As her baby sleeps in the crib.

God loves you so deeply,

So tenderly,

That sometimes,

He just grows quiet,

And enjoys you.

In the quiet of God’s love.
