When we are most grateful, we are most happy.
As we look forward to the Groundhog Day release of my new book, The Power to Bless, I yearn to bless you each day. Blessing is more than a compliment, different than prayer and better than a dream. Blessing is a positive vision, rooted in scripture, uttered in faith. When you receive it, the blessing becomes part of you, shaping your identity in Christ.
As we approach Thanksgiving Day in America, I’m reminded of one of the most thankful women in the Bible—the unnamed woman of Luke 7 whom the Pharisees despised as a “sinner” but whom Jesus treasured. At the center of the moving account, the grateful woman did the unthinkable in a culture of modesty, she let down her hair to towel off Jesus’ feet. It brings new meaning to “let down your hair.”
Receive today’s blessing from Luke chapter 7:
Like the woman who anointed Jesus’ feet, it’s a new day for you!
You are free. You are forgiven. You are moving on.
So, in Christ, go ahead, “let down your hair”!
It means, in Christ, it’s time to receive:
Your heart will overflow with gratitude when you think of Jesus’ love and sacrifice. Gratitude is always the surest path to joy. And that’s the Gospel!
