Love is Not Blind

I bless you that

“Your love may abound

More and more,

With knowledge and

All discernment.” (Philippians 1:9)

God has not invited you into

Naïve grace—

Into undiscerning mercy.

Love is not blind.

As your love abounds,

So may your wisdom.

Christ was not ignorant

Of the wickedness within

Those He came to save.

He died with full knowledge

Of our rebellion.

Authentic love is not extravagant

Because it is duped—

Real love is wild

Because it discerns

The undeserving…

And loves anyway.
